GRAND TOUR OF SOUTH AMERICA for 14 days

DAY 1 RIO DE JANEIRO : Arrival and transfer to hotel.
In the evening proceed for Plataforma Show with dinner. A Brazilian Show, available all year-round, presenting Brazilian rhythms and exotic colorful costumes. Lambada dance - sensual rhythm that expresses all the Brazilian wiggle in a dance to two. Dancers, Bands, Zé Pereira beating his drum... Memories of Rio's first carnivals, brought from Portugal by the colonists. The beauty of the flora and the strength of the forest engendered our beautiful fauna. The indigenous culture maintains the most perfect harmony with the nature. Black slaves came from far away. They planted in Brazil the seed of goodness they carried in their hearts. From these African roots blossomed the beautiful flowers of one people's identity. Candomble - A religious cult of African origin bringing together frantic music and dancing to honor its saints such as OGUM OXOSSI, XANGO and OXALA. All the irrepressible energy of Brazi's northeasterners captured in the intricacies of a driving rhythm.


DAY 2 RIO DE JANEIRO: Half day visit of Sugar Loaf.
The Sugar Loaf, known world over as Rio’s postcard and a must to visit. Sugar Loaf is reached on a two-stage cable car ride. This cable car, in operation is of Italian manufacture and takes 80 persons per trip on a 2-minute ride, each stage. The first stage, Morro da Urca - barely 170 mts high, has a restaurant, amphitheater, a helipoint for scenic rides and a privileged view of the Yacht Club and Botafogo Bay. The second stage takes one up to the Sugar Loaf - thus named because of the loaves of sugar that were commonly used by the Portuguese at the time of the discovery of the city. The all-encompassing view of this privileged 270-meter high lookout is unrivaled. This is the only site where one will have a full view of Copacabana beach. After visiting the Sugar Loaf, tour will continue for a Rio Center village panoramic visit, passing by the Municipal Theather, the Candelaria Church and the Rio´s Cathedral (here we stop for pictures). After this, going back to hotel, we pass by the Sambadrome Avenue were the Samba Schools make their Parade every Carnival

DAY 3 RIO DE JANEIRO : Half day tour to Corcovado mountain.
Tour will leave the hotel riding along the beaches of Rio and taking the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas (lagoon) will reach the Rebouças tunnel, a 2.6 km long complex that links the southern and northern parts of the city cut in half by the Tijuca ridge that makes Rio the only city in the world to have a National Park 5 minutes from downtown. Reaching the Cosme Velho district, tour members will take a cogwheel train of Swiss manufacture that climbs the mountain from its base at 15 mts to almost its summit at 670 mts. The very top is reached by elevator or escalators reaching the base of Christ the Redeemer statue. This statue covered with a mosaic of soapstone is one of Rio’s finest Art Nouveau monuments. The view, from this vantage point, with the surrounding Tijuca National Forest spreading below and a circle of mountains closing the horizon at the very back of the Guanabara bay. is just outstanding!

DAY 4 RIO DE JANEIRO - LIMA : Transfer to the airport to take flight to Peru’s capital city. Arrival and transfer to hotel.
In the afternoon, half day city tour. You will visit the main square, the Government Palace, the City Hall of Lima and the Cathedral, here you will see the tomb of Francisco Pizarro (conqueror of Peru). Then you will visit the San Francisco convent and after you will go to Miraflores and San Isidro, the modern districts of the Peruvian capital. In the afternoon finally visit to the Gold Museum.

DAY 5 LIMA - CUSCO : Transfer to the airport to take flight to Cusco. Arrival and transfer to hotel.
In the afternoon, city tour. You will visit the main square, the cathedral, the “Templo del Sol” or Coricancha, an important worship spot, the twelve-angle stone and the colorful district of San Blas. Finally visit to the nearby ruins: you will see the Sacsayhuaman fortress and its cyclopean wall, the Tambomachay, Quenco, Puca Pucara and Lanlacuyoc worship spots and the “Templo de la Luna”, where some Andean religious practices are still held today.

DAY 6 CUSCO – SACRED VALEY: Full day tour to Sacred Valey area.
Arrival to the village of Pisac (35km: about 45 minutes). You will go to the famous market of Pisac, which is held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays in the center of the village and where you can buy souvenirs. Lunch in restaurant. In the afternoon you will visit the impressive fortress of Ollantaytambo (24 km: about 30 minutes). Overnight in Sacred Valey.

DAY 7 SACRED VALEY – MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO : Full day tour to Machu Picchu ruins.
Arrival to the Aguas Calientes town, where you will take a bus towards Machu Picchu (2,350 meters high. Then you will visit the great archaeological ruins discovered in 1911 by Hiram Bingham. Lunch included in local restaurant.


DAY 8 CUSCO – LIMA - IGUAZU
Transfer to the airport to take flight to Lima and then connect with flight to Foz do Iguazu. Arrival and transfer to hotel.

DAY 9 IGUAZU : Half day visit to the Brazilian side of the Iguazu falls.
The Brazilian Park also offers new facilities that complement their tour. On arriving to the Visitors center, we get on the panoramic buses that begin the tour of the park, then we descend to start walking the paths. From the first balcony we meet a panoramic view of the Argentinean falls. Then after 950 meters with stunning views over the Iguazu river we get to the falls on the Brazilian side. The walkway entering the river next to the Floriano fall gives the visitor a refreshing reception and a gorgeous panoramic view of the lower Iguazu river and the Devil's gorge Canyon. The elevator and the stairs lead to the shopping and restaurant area upstairs. Return to the portal on panoramic buses. Some degree of difficulty, the path includes many stairs.

DAY 10 IGUAZU : Full day visit to the Argentine side of the Iguazu falls.
Visitors first arrive to the Visitors Center and walk the Nature´s Interpretation Center. At the Visitors Center, the Green Train leaves from central Station and goes first to Cataratas Station in about 8 minutes The option is a short walk through the "Green Trail" that leads to the beginning of the path towards the Upper and Lower trails, right after Cataratas Station. Otherwise the same train goes on to Garganta del diablo Station. Once you have finished the circuits, you return to the Visitors Center where the vehicles are waiting for the transfer to the hotels or the Airport. Upper Circuit: The 800 meters of catwalks are detached from the jungle´s surface so as to protect the fauna by preventing disruption of their natural trails. From this circuit you have an upper view of the falls, enjoying their magnificence with a panoramic view. Duration of the tour: one (1) hour. Lower Circuit: 1.600 meters of catwalks, also detached from the jungle's surface, enjoying a view from below and around the falls. This circuit provides a unique experience of feeling part of the natural surroundings, watching and sensing their magnitude from close. Duration of the tour: two (2) hours. Devil`s George: Departing from Cataratas Station, the train goes up to Garganta Station in about 18 minutes. Then a walk along the catwalks, some 1200 meters over the islands, take you to enjoy the most spectacular sight from the most important balcony: the Devil's Gorge. Time required: two (2) hours. OPTIONAL TOUR : The Great Adventure.
Jungle : It's an exciting truck ride along 8 km through the jungle following the Yacaratiá trail until Port Macuco..
Rapids : embarking site for fast motor boats which allow navigating up the Lower Iguazú River, going through rapids along 2 km, ..
Falls : approaching the falls at Devil's Throat canyon and desembarking across San Martín Island, in the heart of the falls. Duration : about 65 minutes.

DAY 11 IGUAZU – BUENOS AIRES
Transfer to the airport to take flight to Buenos Aires city. Arrival and transfer to hotel. OPTIONAL TOUR: Enjoy the passionate atmosphere of tango in a Tango Show Dinner.

DAY 12 BUENOS AIRES: Full day city tour visiting the main attractions of the city.
A tour with an awesome combination of places, experiences, and feelings. Tango is loved all over the world and this tour shows you  the character of the city were Tango was born. We will know Carlos Gardel's life, the life of our most important Tango singer. We will also visit the most important places of Buenos Aires  that are related to our traditional music. We will see the icon of Buenos Aires: The obelisk. We are going to see some parks and squares, and we are going to make a stop in the most important one: May Square (Plaza de Mayo), where the first step to  our independence was done in May 1810.  We will go trough the most traditional avenues like Corrientes Av., 9th of July Av and more. This tour gives you the opportunity to see the historical  neighbourhoods of the South of  the City as San Telmo, Montserrat and La Boca (where we will make a stop), but also  you will see the elegant and exclusive neighbourhoods of the north part of the city as Recoleta, Palermo and Belgrano.  This exclusive tour is also about  Evita's life, the most important woman of Argentina. Another Important places that we will see are Puerto madero neibourhood (the newest one of the city), Boca Juniors Stadium and we will visit Evita's Museum. The price includes Evita's Museum tickets. DAY 13 BUENOS AIRES : Day at leisure for optional tours.

Watching the Delta you will appreciate the generosity of nature in a very singular place. We will leave Buenos Aires City going to the north of the Great Buenos Aires looking for the natural scenery of the Delta and its islands. The way of life the "isleños" (people who lives in the islands) is very special. We will know their costumes, culture and their way of life. We will also see elegant residences located in the residential neighbourhoods of the northern suburbs. We will visit San Isidro neibourhood and the Amazing Cathedral. On the way back to Buenos Aires City, we will pass next to the Presidential Residence (Quinta de Olivos) , where all the Argentinian Presidents use to live during their Presidences.


DAY 14 BUENOS AIRES: Transfer to the airport to take flight back home.
